1 John 1:3
"That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ."

Youth ministry in the 21st Century is in a constant state of flux.  This statement may seem to be an oxymoron, but this is the reality of teen's lives.  Teens feel as if the only constant in their lives is that life seems to be changing so quickly they can hardly keep up.

The goal of Youth Ministry at Arvada Baptist Church is to help parents provide stability in the face of this constant change.  It is our purpose to help teens understand the only way to achieve a position of steadiness is by trusting in and living out the life of a believer in Jesus Christ.  We accomplish this by communicating the need for a personal Savior and training the teens what the Christian life is supposed to look like.

BIBLE STUDIES:
Over the Summer we have some unique studies that we will be working on.
On Sundays, we are looking at CURRENT ISSUES - In the Light of God's Word.  This study focuses on such issues as: Postmodernism (current culture - Dating - Abortion and Stem-cell Research, Suicide, War, Media and Music and Grey Areas.
On Wednesdays, we are using a video series entitled UNFILTERED.  This series looks at issue like: Change - Who's the Boss - Getting Even - and other pertinent issues that teen's face.

ACTIVITIES:
Activities are numerous, with at least three every month.  Typically, two are on the weekends and one on Sunday night.  What we do for activites varies greatly depending on the seasons of the year.  It could be a pizza/game night at the church, a baseball game, capture the flag, scavenger hunt, golf, BBQ's, tubing or skiing, or any number of other fun outings.

SERVICE PROJECTS:
We might be out picking corn in a field for needy families, we could be serving meals at a rescue mission, we have Youth Services on each 5th Sunday, we could be sponsoring food drives, we might be raking leaves or painting houses, but whatever we are doing, we are doing it to honor the Lord.  Opportunities for service abound and are an essential part of the maturation process of teen's faith.

We have also been on several Missions Projects. In 2001, we took a trip to Utah to help with a Vacation Bible School.  In 2002, we held Backyard Bible Clubs in some our Church family's neighborhoods.  In 2004, we traveled to Belize, Central America for a week of special meetings and Vacation Bible School.  In 2005, we traveled to South Dakota and assisted our missionaries on the Yankton Sioux Reservation with a V.B.S.  In 2006, we traveled to Yuma, CO to help a new church plant, Faith Bible Baptist Church, with their first Vacation Bible School.

Each year brings new challenges and greater opportunities.  Do you have the courage to join our Fellowship?
