We believe that an education in the Word of God is as crucial as the education a child receives in school. Accordingly, we take great care in providing a comfortable environment in which teaching the Word of God to children is primary.
Our teachers and aides are warm and caring parents and grandparents who are experienced and skilled in providing this education. Our teachers are the type of role models that parents pray will impact their children and assist them in rearing their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
We partner with the Joyful Life Sunday School Program for the basic materials that are used. We use a graded system that ensures children are learning with other children their own age and this assists us in keeping a teacher to student ratio of less than 10 to 1.
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12
Most teenagers believe that they have little influence in this world, because of their age. Although they may not have much authority, a teen’s example affects other people. Therefore, it is very important for Christian young men and women to cultivate godly character in their lives.
The Youth Ministry of Arvada Baptist Church strives to support Christian parents in the training of their young people. It also exists to evangelize lost teens in our community, edify Christian young people in our congregation, exalt Christ in our ministries, and equip Christian teens to serve God for the rest of their lives.
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” – Ephesians 5:19
The Music Ministry is a large and vital part of the Arvada Baptist Church. Music in the church should be used as a ministry tool that prepares hearts for worship and the preaching of God’s Word. Each of our services begins with congregational singing of the time-honored hymns of the faith. This is a wonderful time of corporate worship.
There are many opportunities for church members to use their God-given talents in the area of music. Our adult choir sings year round in our morning worship services. Two musicals are performed during the year at Easter and Christmas. Church members in the ninth grade through adults are invited to sing in this group. Rehearsals are a wonderful time of fellowship as well as edification as we praise and exalt the name of Christ our Savior. Once a year, an orchestra is organized to accompany the choir for a special occasion. Instrumentalists of all ages and ability are invited to participate.
Encouraging children to develop a love for Christ honoring music is also an important part of the Music Ministry. A children’s choir for ages four years through the sixth grade is available during the school year.
“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
– Mark 10:14-15
Kids hold a special place in Jesus’ heart. He created them, sacrificed His life for their sins, and longs for them to know, love and serve Him. This is why kids matter so much to Arvada Baptist Church. It is our desire to see every boy and girl impacted with the gospel of Jesus Christ. A.W.A.N.A. is one of the programs that we use in this endeavor.
A.W.A.N.A. is the premier program to impact kids, families and entire communities! It is the leading ministry helping the local church to reach children for Christ by blending Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun.
